And this book began with a walk. A very ordinary walk through London. And my four-year-old daughter holding my hand. She wasn’t interested in dates or famous architects.

She wanted to know:

Why are the squirrels grey here? Does Big Ben ever get cleaned?

I realised I didn’t have the answers. Not in the guidebooks I owned. Those books explained what adults think is important.

But I wanted something that answered what children actually wonder about. So I began collecting the small, surprising details that make London feel alive for a child.

And that’s how My Adventure in London was born.

I illustrated My Adventure in London as a giant hide-and-seek world.

Every page is full of tiny moments of London life — red buses passing by, squirrels in the parks, curious foxes wandering through the streets, and families exploring the city together.

If you look closely, you might even find Anna and her daughter somewhere in the book. And perhaps me too.

Because this book was created the way we see London ourselves — full of little stories, everyday magic, and small details waiting to be discovered.
